Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush

Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush in Joy made it to our top Sun-kissed Blushes. Since it has become a cult favorite, I decided this blush deserves a dedicated post.

I initially received these liquid blushes as PR upon Rare Beauty’s launch at Sephora, and these blushes still have their place in my makeup collection.

Formula and Texture

The formula of Rare Beauty Soft Pinch liquid blushes is weightless, high-pigmented, easy to blend, and seamlessly buildable. The Soft Pinch blush comes in two finishes: matte and dewy. Regardless of the finish, both have a silky texture and blend nicely into the skin. I prefer a dewy finish for its shine.
The blush feels comfortable on the skin, lasts all day, and looks natural. With vivid shades, a little goes a long way, and the formula works seamlessly under and over the liquid or powder makeup, as well as over skincare or bare skin.

Compared to Stay Vulnerable Melting Cream Blush, Soft Pinch liquid blush stays on much longer. When compared to the newly launched Soft Pinch Luminous Powder Blushes, liquid blushes with dewy finishes are less reflective.

Soft Pinch Liquid Blush from Rare Beauty is vegan, cruelty-free, and contains less than one percent of synthetic fragrances.

Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush Shades Selection

This buildable blush is available in 13 shades: 4 matte and 9 dewy finishes:

Dewy finish

Matte Finish

All shades of Rare Beauty Soft Pinch liquid blush in Dewy finishes are available in full size and mini, while those with matte finishes come only in full size.

Here is how Soft Pinch liquid blush in dewy and matte shades, specifically Bliss, Encourage, Happy, Joy, and Grace looks on my light skin tone and compare to each other.

As you can see, the glow from the foundation is shining through with matte finishes and dewy finishes have even more glow.

Rare Beauty Liquid Blush Ingredients

The list of ingredients changes depending on the shade of the liquid blush. Since I only have 4 shades in my collection + a sample size, we will discuss only these blushes.

The list of ingredients looks pretty good. I would even add I was so surprised to see how good it is that I had to double-check if the brand has the Clean at Sephora seal (not just yet).

Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush is a silicone-based product. As per the ingredient list, there are no limits for using the formula on the lips, but I would recommend against using it around the eyes, as certain colorants used in these blushes are restricted in use in that area.

Packaging

I really love the packaging of this liquid blush from Rare Beauty! It comes in a glass resembling a plastic bottle with a screw-on cap and foot doe applicator.

And my favorite thing – there is a hidden heart in the applicator. Did you know about that?

How to Use Rare Beauty Liquid Blush

For newbie blushers, I’d recommend using just a dot on each cheek. Start with gently removing the excess from the doe-foot applicator. Make sure to blend it out quickly before it sets. You can use this formula with a brush, beauty blender, or fingertips. Then, build it from there – after all, maybe you won’t be a newbie anymore. You can pair it with powder blushes, like the newly launched Soft Pinch Luminous Powder Blush for a more dimensional effect.

Selena likes to use her fingers to blend and start with a dot. She also likes to apply Rare Beauty Liquid Blush on her lips for a monochromatic look.
