The beloved award-winning DipBrow Pomade from Anastasia Beverly Hills has now its little sister – DipBrow Gel. In this review, I’ll compare these two products, help you find your perfect shade and provide you with tips on application to avoid having the same experience as many others who complained about this product performance in their reviews
What is DipBrow Gel?
DipBrow Gel from Anastasia Beverly Hills is a highly-pigmented brow gel, that is promised to have the same long-lasting, waterproof formula as the famous DipBrow Pomade, but in a more manageable gel form and a compact tube with a brush.

DipBrow Gel is available in 11 shades matching those of DipBrow Pomade which makes the color selection really easy, especially if you know your DipBrow shade

DipBrow Gel Shade Selection
As mentioned before, dipBrow Gel mirrors the DipBrow Pomade shades, except for the Auburn shade, which has

In addition to this, using Auburn shade can compensate the ashiness of darker shade that occurs from the product oxidation, that Anastasia Soare explained in her exclusive masterclass.
Finding the right shade for DipBrow Gel
In order to identify the best match for DipBrow Gel collection, you can always refer to my Finding the Perfect Shade Guide.
Since the Auburn shade in dipBrow Gel is different, here is a diagram showing the difference between Dipbrow Pomade and DipBrow Gel swatches. This table will help you identify your ideal DipBrow shade based on your hair colors.

Packaging
The product comes in a beautiful half golden, half transparent tube. The see-through part of the tube shows the real product shade. For me, this brow gel is a combination of two of my favorite products: DipBrow Pomade and Tinted Brow Gel, both from Anastasia Beverly Hills.

Compared to other brow products from the brand, DipBrow Gel is the only product available in two different sizes: a standard (full shade selection) and mini size (5 shades only: Taupe, Soft Brown, Medium Brown, Dark Brown, Ebony). The pricing is $18 and $9 respectively.
Applicator Brush
DipBrow Gel features a tapered brush applicator that allows the product to be applied directly on brows and skin without much product build up. You can always use your favorite Anastasia Beverly Hills Brush #12 for a precise application, or you can stick to the applicator in the DipBrow Gel for a more natural-looking finish.

In comparison to the brush in Tinted Brow Gel, bristles in DipBrow Gel are assembled in a cone-shaped brush, with medium softness. This type of bristles helps the product to spread consistently on your brows, and it doesn’t turn darker as you brush it on your brow hair.
Formula
DipBrow Pomade has a very unique waterproof, lightweight formula. The product is considered as a “hybrid of two of its most iconic products” – Tinted Brow Gel and DipBrow Pomade. Nevertheless, the formula is creamier than Tinted Brow Gel but thinner than that of DipBrow Pomade.

Apart from the consistency and brush type, the major difference from the Tinted brow gel is the finish. DipBrow Gel has a matte finish, while Tinted Brow Gel is more on a shimmering side.
When compared to DipBrow Pomade, the formula of DipBrow Gel is softer and is easier to manage. This type of versatile formula also allows the product to adhere both to hair and to the skin. Moreover, it gives enough time to blend before drying down to smudge-free, waterproof, long wear matte brow product.

The gel works across different brow types, including full, fine, smooth or thick, unruly hair. DipBrow Gel holds brow hair in place, while tinting and thickening those light tiny brow hair to achieve naturally fuller brow look.
The formula is said to last more than 12 hours.
Ingredients
Since ingredients change from shade to shade, here you will find the lists for each DipBrow Gel shade.

May Contain (+/-): Manganese Violet (Ci 77742), Ultramarines (Ci 77007), Carmine (Ci 75470), Yellow 5 Lake (Ci 19140), Iron Oxides (Ci 77491, Ci 77492, Ci 77499), Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891).

This product is cruelty-free and is free of parabens, noncomedogenic, and it is dermatologist tested. With a closer look at the lists above, Talc is the only problematic component that I see here. While cosmetic grade talc is free of the main contaminant – asbestos, National Toxicology panel claims that it can also be “toxic and carcinogenic“. At the same time, FDA considers talc as “designated as safe for general or specific, limited use in food”.
By the way, the DipBrow Pomade is Talc free, so if you are concerned about this ingredient, you might want to use the Pomade instead.
How to use DipBrow Gel
Time needed: 3 minutes
Here is the suggested use for this product with the recommendations from Anastasia Soare.
Apply DIPBROW® Gel with the brush from the arch to the tail.
Anastasia Soare recommends applying the product from the highest point of your brows towards the ends.
Pro Tip: Clean the tip of the brush with a tissue and apply the product with a light pressure to avoid a
Fill your brows from the front toward the arch using the remaining product.?
Rotate the brush to use the remaining product. Again, go with a light hand for a natural ombre look.
Brush your brows in the direction as brow hair”™s natural growth.
Comb your brows lightly with the brush. You even might want to use a clean spooli for that.
Use the tip of the brush to apply the formula directly onto the skin, then blend the product through the brow hair to fill in areas of sparseness.
Draw a fine line as if you were using the DipBrow Pomade. Alternatively, Anastasia recommends using Brow Wiz for a more defined look.
For fuller coverage, brush the gel through the brows a second time to create hair-like strokes.
Do not forget the clean the brush again before applying the second coat!

My Experience with DipBrow Gel
I’m a frequent user of brow gels, as I find them easier for use in my everyday life. Sometimes, I even fill out sparseness with a regular tinted gel using a Brush #12. Therefore, I was really excited to try this new product from Anastasia Beverly Hills that will be in the form of a gel but with more creamier formula.
I decided to go for the mini size of the product that you can also find in a limited edition Power Duo Value Pack. I chose the shade Medium Brown that matches my DipBrow Pomade shade.
Ease of Use
Naturally, I have thick eyebrows so I was really surprised to see how this brow gel filled in my brows naturally without much effort. I didn’t even have to clean up the brush to apply the product on my
A little goes a long way and it feels like the brush is not covered with the product at all. A lot of people were having an opposite experience, blaming the stopper to be too wide for the brush. Since I’m using mini, I
A lot of people complained about the size of the brush. Again, with mini, I didn’t have any issues with it. On the contrary, I find this type of brush more convenient to use than the one in Tinted Brow Gel. In addition to this, I find the consistency of the product really easy to work with, compared to other products, mentioned in this review.
The product doesn’t smudge on my brow and stays on pretty well. It does add hold to my brows, but I can’t call it extra stiff.
Washing DipBrow Gel Off
I had a hard time washing off the swatches from my hand by using regular hand soap. Taking the makeup off my brow hair didn’t cause me any problem, no tugging or losing my brow hair. I believe, other people, who had this issue, either were using wipes or cotton pads to clean their brows, which naturally will cause tugging and is not good for hair and skin. I usually use cleansing balm or oil for mascaras, brow products, and any other
I also took a shower with this brow gel on, and it didn’t go anywhere. This is not what I would normally do, but it survived through hot steam, which is another plus to the product.
Final Thoughts
DipBrow Gel is a very versatile product. I found it easy to use and it really matches my lifestyle and satisfies my needs. Talc might be a little of a concern for me, but overall it’s a nice product if you are not much into clean ingredients.
