Last month I caught myself thinking that lately, for some reason, I do not use dark eyeshadows for a smokey eye look that often as I used to.
When I was working in corporate, a quick eyeshadow look that I’m about to show you in the video was my signature, easy-to-do, go-to look. It is so versatile, I could easily wear it to the office and later on to rock it while I was catching up with my girls after work.
With that being said, I decided to recreate one of the looks I was rocking back in a day, marrying flattering smokey eyes with one-color-fits-all nude lipstick.
I choose bareMinerals Gen Nude eyeshadow palette in Rose for a reason that it is so hard to ruin your look with it! The wrong flick of your wrist will not make you redo the whole look. The coverage of these eyeshadows is buildable, so for more intensity, you need to layer them.
I’ve already shared my review about this eyeshadow palette in more details in a separate blog post.
The palette is so versatile that I decided to do a giveaway! Head to my GIVEAWAY page for more details.
Now, here is the Smokey Eye Tutorial video.

Sharing with you my all-time favorite smokey eye look!🥰 It has been modified through years – I was barely using highlighters 6-7 years ago. However, it is so versatile, you can wear it during the day and for the night look! Few comments on the Smokey Eye video
As you can see, I’m working on layers here rather than applying a single swipe of eyeshadows. Since I have hooded eyes, I always need to create a crease higher than my natural one, otherwise, no one will notice the eyeshadows on my eyes.
I cannot stress enough the importance of finishing with good mascara – it can really make or break the whole eye look! I love Lashtopia from bareMinerals and I’ll also include it into the giveaway! I’m so excited that you will have a chance to try this awesome product as well!
Several years ago, highlighters were not so popular, so I wasn’t even wearing them. However, to complete this look and adapt it to nowadays, I’m using very subtle highlighters.
You might be questioned by my way of using the setting powder – I’ve learned this trick from Nick Lujan, Make Up Forever Artist during the presentation in Houston. By swirling the loaded brush in your palm you can avoid using too much of the powder under your eyes (read as avoid creasing).
For lips, I’m decided to wear Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution in Pillow Talk that I’ve recently shared in one of my reviews.

I have several identical brushes and every time I use a different product or eye shadow shade, I use a clean brush. Yes, it will create a pile of dirty brushes, but it takes me only 5 to 7 minutes (really, I timed it!) to wash them all in one go! I’m using Sigma Beauty Sigma Spa Express Brush Cleaning Mat and Sigmagic Brushampoo and they work magic with these brushes. I tried a dupe for the mat and it’s not the same, trust me.
